Blackbird

Blackbird

619 W. Randolph

West Loop - Chicago Restaurant - Blackbird

Blackbird is best characterized as a menu in flux, an impeccable, modular décor and a reliable execution of contemporary American. There’s no telling what restaurateur Paul Kahan, and chef du cuisine, Mike Sheerin may pull out of their toques. Sometimes the presentation calls for a braised pork belly in barbecue consommé, offset by scarlet turnips and cherries with Chinese broccoli.

Additionally, there’s a signature catch of sturgeon with English peas, braised peanuts, crispy bacon and bourbon carmel. Carnivores rave about the roasted loin of lamb with precisely charred spring onions, green almonds and cilantro.  Closely-aligned tables deter an intimate dining experience. Nevertheless, a profound wine selection is backed by confident service.
