M Henry

Exuding the raw qualities of exposed brick, and eclectic collections of artwork, M Henry earns high grades for serving the best breakfast in Andersonville (Chicago).

Opened from 8 AM to 3 PM, m Henry complicates matters with several tasty lunch options. Nevertheless, real breakfast lovers don’t require much deliberation, considering that:

  • M Henry’s bliss cakes are a byproduct of sublime. Prepared with either the sour cherries (for the weekend brunch) or blackberries (on the weekdays), both are sandwiched between vanilla mascarpone cream, sprinkled with oak crust and brown sugar. In either case, these fluffy hotcakes should come with a warning label:

WARNING: Surgeon General deems M henry’s French cakes to be highly habit forming —- not recommended for individuals who suffer from addictive personalities.

For those, who prefer a savory breakfast, ‘Fannie’s killer fried egg sandwich’ should not be ignored. Stacked sour boule arrives layered with two over-medium eggs, Applewood bacon, sliced plum, oozing with Gorgonzola cheese and completed by M Henry’s signature potatoes.

  • Appease those cravings for huevos borrachos (the English translation for drunken eggs)  with this Chicago restaurant’s homemade masa tortillas piled scrambled chorizo, corn, avocado slices, Chihuahua cheese, poached eggs and sour cream. The outcome gives way to sopping up the plate for the remaining morsels.
  • Vegans need not worry about being ostracized. As M Henry’s ‘vegan epiphany’ consists of organic tofu scrambled with red and green peppers, baby spinach, yellow onions, served with yuba and house potatoes.

Either way one bites it, m Henry is spot on for breakfast.
