With some coming to an impetuous end, for some this weekend may be the last call to find unique gifts.  On Friday and Saturday, ‘Meet Illinois Artisans’ presents a rare opportunity to score one-of-a-kind collectibles from the artists, who created them. Featured attractions include art-making demonstrations, starting at 1 PM and until 5 PM at the Water Works Visitor Information Center of the Historic Pumping Station | 163 E. Pearson

(Admission is free).

If hunger pangs are in overdrive, choose from one of the following convenient destinations for dinner:

A)

Choice-A assures a casual vibe at Mike Ditka’s, which is on Chestnut, one and a half block west of the Pumping Station. The menu boasts several options from mega salads, burgers or even an omega-rich catch of the day. (Prices are $16 - $25/per person without an alcoholic beverage)
