An anthology of musicians, traversing the globe, strums the Annual Folk and Roots Festival, sponsored by the Old Town School of Folk Music. With the sonic renderings of bluegrass, Latin American, to West African, the all ages, instrumental-centric event celebrates the world’s melodious diversity.
Beyond the main-stage, a kid’s tent keeps the little ones entertained. Also, there’s the dance tent, where both the rhythmically adept and challenged converge. And for non-stop sets played by local artists, the Nuestro Latin tent assures a festive compilation of music genres: Afro-Colombian music, Classic Latin, Traditional Peruvian, Mariachi and more.
On Saturday, live music kicks off at 12:55 PM when the Midwest Fiddle Championship graces the Mainstage at 12:55. Please visit — for additional details: http://www.chicagofolkandroots.org/
