Chicago Best Restaurants Recommendation:
Before or after dinner, slip into the Gage Restaurant, just six blocks (SE), on Michigan Avenue and off of Madison Street. Signature victuals include the namesake burger, “The Gage,” which is smothered melted onion marmalade, local camembert sandwiched between a toasted malt roll; crispy potatoes and brie; or the daily risotto with winter veggies.
The iconic Chicago restaurant is the architectural byproduct of two contrasting approaches to commercial building design. During the late 1880s, Louis Sullivan in collaboration with Holabird and Roche built the trio building collection of buildings, known as The Gage.
