Where: Conaway Center | 1104 South Wabash

Cost: Free

An short drive or even a bus ride away, Cafe Bionda is exactly a one-mile south of the Conaway Center. The interior exudes mahogany wood fixtures, reminiscent of an Italian eatery in New York. The menu is a showcase of  reasonably priced, traditional favorites.

Begin with the fried calamari with crispy fried zucchini. Despite Cafe Biando’s  knack for serving up consistently good food,  the chicken Marsala; ricotta jumbo shells named, Aunt Mimi’s stuffed shells and the meatball sausage veal braciole are definitive winners.  (Average cost: $25 - 30 per person)
